On Wednesday, November 4th, 2026, the exhibition 50 Years of the INA Fine Arts Award was opened at the Josip Račić Gallery of the National Museum of Modern Art.

The exhibition was opened by Branko Franceschi, director of the National Museum of Modern Art and curator of the exhibition. In his speech, he touched on the praiseworthy initiative of INA, wanting to enrich the working environment of its workers with its commitment to fine arts, and thanked his former colleagues from INA who attended the opening. The exhibition was visited by artists whose works are exhibited, such as Biserka Baretić, Živa Krauss and Zlatko Kauzlarić - Atač. The exhibition is accompanied by a bilingual catalogue with texts by Branko Franceschi and Luciana Fuks, the curator for museum documentation at the National Museum of Modern Art who researched the circumstances of the creation and implementation of the INA Fine Arts Award.

The exhibition presents the works of artists who exhibited in 1976 and 1979 at the INA Art Award, created between 1976 and 1979 and from the collection of the National Museum of Modern Art - a selected overview of artistic creativity of the 1970s, spanning various stylistic and formal characteristics.

"As Šperanda reported, the exhibition opening proved so popular that it surpassed the capacity of the Modern Gallery itself. Shortly before the ceremony began, its fifteen rooms, large and small, on the second floor seemed far too small to hold all the art enthusiasts who had assembled that evening. Recognising that the jury’s decision was still to be evaluated, Šperanda stressed that the exhibition allowed every visitor to judge the decision for themselves. In the year marking the fiftieth anniversary of the first INA Art Award, the call is being issued once again, albeit from a markedly different temporal and social perspective. This time, it comes from the National Museum of Modern Art, the institution that once provided the professional framework for and hosted the award exhibitions, and whose collection today includes substantial holdings of works by many of the artists who participated in them." - Luciana Fuks from the text in the accompanying catalogue

The exhibition was realized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia. The exhibition will remain open until November 29, 2026.
