The Lonely Planet exhibition by Rijeka-based artist Tomislav Ćurković opens on April 2 at the Josip Račić Gallery. The display, featuring around ten selected works in mixed media created between 2004 and 2023, is curated by Dr. Nataša Ivančević, Director of the Croatian Museum of Tourism in Opatija.

In the exhibition catalogue, the author writes about Ćurković’s artistic practice: Since 2000, Tomislav Ćurković has worked across diverse media, including installation, object and conceptual art, sculpture, collage, painting, as well as stage design, film, and contemporary music. His creative drive transcends
the constraints of any single medium, and for him, there are no boundaries between techniques and medium. His painting practice synthesises these experiences, with the process of making each work continually driving him to explore, deconstruct, and reconfigure visual elements and symbolic content.

The exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and the City of Zagreb’s Office for Culture and Civil Society. It is accompanied by a bilingual catalogue in Croatian and English, featuring an introductory text by Dr. Nataša Ivančević
