The National Museum of Modern Art, The Wasteland, and Mario Kučera invite you to the presentation of the photo book Nigdje (Nowhere).

Join us on September 25 at 7 PM at the National Museum of Modern Art, Oktogon, Zagreb.

Mario Kučera’s photo book Nigdje (Nowhere) represents a unique anti-album that takes us—nowhere. Nowhere is a label that negates location, and in the context of photographic art, it negates one of the key properties of photography: identification, in this case, of place. In flashes of fascination, Kučera reveals the source of all perception and the fact that the place we always find ourselves in is—nowhere. The asceticism of his approach simultaneously allows for numerous interpretations while nullifying them all through the intense presence of the image. Poetic and aestheticized, these photographs inspire contemplation on our place and our consciousness in the world.

The book will be presented by:

Feđa Gavrilović, author of the text

Marta Radman, curator at NMMA
