As an accompanying event to the exhibition Contrasts, part of the “NMMU on Tour” series—on view at the Fine Arts Gallery until April 16—a guided educational tour was held for primary school students on April 4. The tour was led by Željko Marciuš, museum advisor at the National Museum of Modern Art, and author of the exhibition concept and introduction in the accompanying catalogue.

Together with NMMU museum educator Lorena Šimić, the students explored selected works from the exhibition, discussing the differences between Ivan Picelj’s geometric abstraction and the expressionism of Vilko Gecan. They also enthusiastically participated in the creative workshop "Who Am I in the Image?", designed and led by Lorena Šimić with the assistance of NMMU trainee Luciana Fuks.

Guided by activity sheets, the students reflected on their own personalities, modes of expression, and the relationship between order and emotion. The exhibition visit and workshop allowed them to connect artistic expression with personal identity in an engaging and innovative way.
