The exhibition “Büyük Menderes” by renowned Split-based artist Mateo Perasović, marking five decades of his exhibition career, opened on June 4 at the Josip Račić Gallery. The exhibition concept was presented to a large audience — including Onur Yay, First Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in the Republic of Croatia — by Branko Franceschi, Director of the National Museum of Modern Art and the exhibition’s curator, alongside the artist himself.

Thirteen recent mixed-media works by Perasović, created between 2023 and 2025, are on display for Zagreb’s cultural public until June 29.

Following its premiere at the Josip Račić Gallery in Zagreb, the exhibition will travel to the Vidović Gallery of the Split City Museum, where it will be on view from October 7 to 30, 2025. A bilingual catalogue (Croatian and English), designed by Ana Zubić, accompanies the exhibition and is published by the National Museum of Modern Art and the Split City Museum.

The exhibition has been made possible with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and the City of Zagreb’s Department for Culture and Civil Society.
