If you find yourself in Udine, be sure to visit Casa Cavazzini – a house from 1540 in the historical town centre, which was transformed into a museum of modern and contemporary art in 2012. Specifically, until 16 July, the exhibition Insieme (Together) is on display in ten of its exhibition halls, which presents 55 masterpieces by some of the most prominent 19th and 20th century artists, such as John Everett Millais, Franz Von Stuck, Vassily Kandinsky, Salvador Dali, Alberto Savini de Chiricho, Renato Guttuso, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Giuliano Vangi, Gianfranco Ferroni, Tibor Csernus, Mirko Basaldella.
Included in this select company are also Croatian artists Ljubo Babić with his “Widows” from 1912 and Mirko Rački with his “Crossing the Acheron” from 1907 – both works from the holdings of the National Museum of Modern Art in Zagreb.
Petra Kursar and Marija Kalmeta, restorers from the National Museum of Modern Art, supervised the transfer and installation of the two paintings, together with their Italian counterparts.
